Aisslinn Nosky is a versatile and charismatic musician who brings passion and fervour to every project she pursues. She performs in solo and chamber music recitals across North America, Europe and Asia. Recent triumphs include performing and directing both Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at Grand River Baroque Festival (Ontario) and Mendelssohn’s D minor Violin Concerto with Tafelmusik. Highlights of the 2010/2011 season find her returning to Grand River for more Vivaldi and Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires and touring Mendelssohn’s D minor Concerto with Tafelmusik to Quebec (Orford) and Germany (Klang und Raum), as well as making solo appearances with the Calgary Philharmonic and at the Lameque International Baroque Festival. She is often in demand as a leader and concertmaster and has led the Grand River Baroque Festival Players, Arion Baroque Orchestra and Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra. Aisslinn will continue in her role as a member of Tafelmusik.

As Co-Artistic Director of I FURIOSI Baroque Ensemble (www.ifuriosi.com), Aisslinn has helped to bring an enthusiastic new audience to baroque music. For a decade, I FURIOSI has presented its own flamboyant and inventive concert series in Toronto. I FURIOSI also tours extensively with recent appearances at Tage Alter Musik (Regensburg, Germany), the Galway Early Music Festival, the Lameque International Baroque Festival, the Mosel Musikfestival, the Indianapolis Early Music Festival, and the Montreal Baroque Festival. In December of 2008, the group’s latest disc “CRAZY,” was released by Dorian/Sono Luminus. In 2007 the ensemble became the first classical music group to headline Toronto's Pride celebrations. I FURIOSI released its first self-produced CD “Defiled Is My (Middle) Name” to great critical acclaim in 2006.

Aisslinn's chamber groups are numerous and diverse. With the Eybler Quartet (Julia Wedman, violin, Patrick Jordan, viola, and Margaret Gay, cello), she explores repertoire from the first century of the string quartet (approx. 1730-1830) on period instruments. Its world premiere recording of Joseph Leopold Eybler's Op.1 String Quartets is available on the Analekta label (please visit www.eyblerquartet.com) and the group released its recording of Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet with English clarinettist Jane Booth in September, 2011. As a member of the Kirby String Quartet (named for the legendary comic strip artist Jack Kirby), Aisslinn and her trusty sidekicks Julia Wedman, violin, Max Mandel, viola, and Carina Reeves, cello, play a wide range of eclectic repertoire. The group performs recitals across Canada and serves on the faculty of the Kirby String Quartet Chamber Music Workshop in Langley, BC (www.kirbyquartet.com). Aisslinn is also a member of The Knights’ Chamber Orchestra (www.theknightsnyc.com) in New York City, and performed with them as soloist in 2008.
Since 2005, Aisslinn has been a highly active member of Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra both as an ensemble member and as soloist. As Canada’s period instrument orchestra, Tafelmusik is greatly in demand internationally, and in 2009, the group debuted at Carnegie Hall. With TBO, Aisslinn has toured the world and has been a featured soloist at many prestigious festivals including the Ravinia Festival, the Aspen Music Festival, Klang & Raum Musikfestival, and the Seoul International Bach Festival.

Before joining Tafelmusik, Aisslinn was Assistant Principal Second Violin of the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra for two seasons and appeared as Guest Concertmaster with Symphony Nova Scotia on several occasions.

A native of Nanaimo, BC, Aisslinn Nosky made her solo debut with the CBC Vancouver Orchestra at the age of eight. She studied with Heilwig von Koenigsloew at the Nanaimo Conservatory and with Lorand Fenyves at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. She studied both solo and chamber music for many summers at the Banff Centre for the Arts, and studied at the Steans Institute of the Ravinia Festival one summer as a member of the Metro String Quartet.
