
Emmanuelle Haïm is one of today's most original, exciting and celebrated conductors in the Early Music field. With her ensemble Le Concert d'Astrée she regularly performs at Europe's major concert and opera venues to enthusiastic response from audiences and critics alike. Emmanuelle Haïm is also very much in demand as a guest conductor, working at Glyndebourne, with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. This season, she has been invited by the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Radio Symphony Orchestra Frankfurt, where she will return in 2006. Ms Haïm is much sought after in the US, and has recently appeared with the St Paul Chamber Orchestra and the New World Symphony. In 2001, Le Concert d'Astrée and Emmanuelle Haïm signed an exclusive recording contract with Virgin Classics. Their discs have received several awards of the industry, including the Grammy, the 'Choc du Monde de la Musique' as well as the 'Disque du Mois d'Opéra International'. Ms. Haïm will make her Handel and Haydn Society debut this season.
