
Christopher Purves has performed throughout the world in varied operatic and concert repertoire. Concert engagements include Mozart's Mass in C with The Sixteen, Stravinsky's Les Noces with Philippe Herreweghe, Monteverdi's Vespers with Richard Hickox, Bach's B Minor Mass at the Chaise Dieu Festival, and appearances with the Gabrieli Consort, the City of London Sinfonia, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Les Musiciens de Louvre, the London Sinfonietta under Sir Simon Rattle, and the Ulster Orchestra. Operatic appearances include Scottish Opera, Opera North, Welsh National Opera, and English National Opera. This season's engagements and future plans include a new production of Peter Grimes for Opera North, Bach's St Matthew Passion at the Glyndebourne Festival, his debut at Covent Garden, and James MacMillan's The Sacrifice for Welsh National Opera. In 2008, he will sing the title role in a new production of Falstaff for the Glyndebourne Festival. Mr. Purves makes his Handel and Haydn Society debut with these concerts.
